SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. This protocol is used to send emails from other third-party applications from your own email address.
SMTP is a standard protocol being used across the world by every application.
You can now set up the SMTP in FreshLearn and send emails from your mail servers and your own email address.
Let’s see how to set up SMTP in FreshLearn.
- Login to your FreshLearn admin account.
- Go to Apps → SMTP.
- Click on Enable
- Now, here you will see a set of six input fields that you need to fill in.
- Sender Email: This is the email address from which you wish to send the emails.
- Sender Name: The name which the recipient mailbox should show.
- User Name: The user name of your email account from which the email will go.
- Password: The password of your email account.
- Server Address: This is a standard SMTP address each provider gives. For example, the Gmail server address for SMTP is smtp.gmail.com.
- Port: This is the TLS port from which the email server will send the address. For Gmail, it is 587. This is also dependent on each provider.
- Click on Save and done !! All the email communication now will happen from your email address only.
Test the SMTP by clicking on the “Test Email” option. An email will come to the email id from which you are logged into FreshLearn.
